Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Homeowners Insurance and Collectibles Insurance?

Homeowners insurance is a type of insurance that provides coverage for damages or losses to your home and personal property caused by covered perils such as fire, theft, and natural disasters. It typically includes coverage for both the structure of the home and the personal belongings inside.

Collectibles insurance, on the other hand, is a type of insurance specifically designed to protect valuable collections such as art, antiques, coins, stamps, and other items of high value. Collectibles insurance provides coverage for the full value of the collection in case of damage, theft, or loss, and it can also cover losses that may occur during transit or while the items are on loan.

While homeowners insurance can provide some coverage for personal property, it typically has limits and exclusions for high-value items such as collectibles. Collectibles insurance, on the other hand, is designed specifically to cover these types of items and can provide broader coverage and higher limits. Additionally, homeowners insurance is generally required by mortgage lenders as a condition of the loan, while collectibles insurance is optional and typically purchased by collectors who want to protect their valuable collections.
